China and Russia often use the relative grindability coefficient to express the grindability of ore. In Europe and the United States, the grinding function index of the ore is usually used to indicate its grindability and guide the selection and design of the mill. The productivity of the mill is directly proportional to the grindability. Different ores have different grindability. The harder the ore, the worse the grindability and the lower the productivity of the mill. On the contrary, the use of Xingkuang brand raw material ball mill, when the ore is soft, the grindability is good, and the productivity of the mill is high. In the grinding process, the ore is both the grinding object and the grinding medium, therefore, the change of the particle size characteristics of the ore has a great influence on the grinding. If the ore particle size is not large and the proportion of large blocks is small, the impact force of grinding is insufficient, which not only reduces the grinding efficiency and raw material ball mill specifications, but also easily accumulates in the mill. Excessive ore particle size and excessive large block ratio will prolong the grinding time to the specified fineness and reduce the grinding efficiency. The large value of the raw material ball mill to the ore particle size is limited by the mill specifications, generally 250~300mm.

The raw material mill usually adopts edge transmission mode. The materials to be ground enter the raw material mill continuously and evenly through the feeder. The motor drives the mill barrel to rotate through the reducer. The materials first spiral into the first mill bin along the hollow shaft. The steel ball medium and materials in the mill are subjected to friction and centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the barrel. 

After the materials are brought to a certain height under the action of centrifugal force, the curtain is thrown and dropped and then ground by steel balls. The crushed finished products are discharged from the mill through sorting equipment to select qualified materials. In the circulating grinding system, the unqualified materials continue to return to the mill to be hit and ground by the grinding body until the fineness is qualified.
